Wet Cape Relay/ Wet T-shirt Relay
Fill two buckets with water and place them about 10 feet apart in a straight line. Put a towel in each. Divide the group into two teams, and have each team line up across from a bucket.
Once the race begins, the first member runs to the bucket, with the towel, soaks it, puts over shoulders, and runs back to his/her team. When he/she reaches the team, he/she removes the towel and gives it to the next person. The next person runs with the towel in hand to the bucket, dunks it into the water, and puts the wet towel over shoulders. Repeat.
The first team to have all players finish the task wins!
Sponge Relay
Each person dunks their sponge in their bucket and places it on their head. They then proceed to the bucket as fast as they can without dropping the sponge. If they drop the sponge they have to start all over and redunk their sponge. After getting through the course they pass the sponge to the next person who proceeds in the same fashion. The first team done wins.
Beach Towel Volleyball
Form 2 teams. Have each team stand on either side of the volleyball net. Have each team divide into pairs. Each pair should have one towel and each person should grab 2 corners of the towel so that it is spread out between the pair.
A water balloon is placed on the towel of one of the pairs. The pair must then work together to lift their towel so that the balloon is propelled into the air, across the net to the other team. One of the pairs on the other team must then try to catch the balloon with their towel and return it the same way.
As in regular volleyball, a team scores a point when the balloon hits the ground on the other side of the net.
Water Soccer
Divide the group into two teams. The tarp will be covered in soap to make slippery, and play crab soccer! (Get campers doing the crab walk and play soccer kicking the ball).
Water Balloon toss competitions
Leaking Relay
Divide into two teams. First player on each team fills his cup with water from the bucket, then places the leaking cup over his head and runs around a previously marked course. When he gets back to the beginning he pours into the empty container, whatever water is left in his cup then hands the empty cup to the next camper. The team that fills their container first wins.
Balloon Squat
*Latex allergies*
This is a relay race which needs two teams with an equal amount of players. You also need enough water balloons, one for each player and a few extra for mistakes. Make start and finish lines about 20 feet apart. Place the water balloons in two piles at the starting line. Call out “GO” and the first person on each team picks up a balloon and runs to the finish line. There, they must sit on their balloon and pop it and then run back to that start line. Then the next player grabs their balloon and does the same thing. If a player drops his balloon or pops it on the way, he must go back to the start line, get a new balloon and start again. The first team to finish popping all their balloons is the winning team.
